Since becoming a mom I’ve stopped giving other moms-to-be adorable and useless baby gifts and shifted towards the products I’ve found life-saving during the new parent days. I recently assembled a few of my must haves into a little gift basket for a friend about to give birth.

Here are some of the items I can’t live without for my babe:

  1. Ergobaby Carrier – the comfiest baby carrier I’ve tried!
  2. Wubba Nub – the genius little toy attached helps baby keep the soothie close at hand.
  3. Live Clean Baby Tearless Shampoo & Wash – a natural baby bodywash that smells like a sweet baby’s head.
  4. Aiden & Anais Muslin Wraps – super soft, multi-purpose wraps I’ve used to cuddle baby or cover a stroller.
  5. Milkmade tea – drink to help the milk flow.
  6. D Drops -An easy drop to give baby their daily dose of vitamin D.
  7. Shoosha Nipple Cream – use this from the very first day!
  8. Huggies Travel Wipes – keep one of these containers in every bag you own.
  9. Kids 0-9 Colic – a homeopathic solution that helped stop the tears!
  10. Sudocrem – quickly cures diaper rash.

The best gift I’ve received for my baby has to be The Baby Shusher. My little one is very fussy, and before receiving the Shusher, my husband and I would shush so much and so hard that our lips became chapped. It’s been a lifesaver on longer road trips, and getting our babe to settle down and (finally) nap! @rachelofcourse

My most used item I received were my Muslin Blankets.

Best gift I received was a homemade frozen apple pie two weeks after I delivered. I promptly baked and ate the entire thing for lunch and dinner. Best gifts for the first two months are home cooked meals delivered to your doorstep :) @samanthadiamond

amazing – i must make one for this weekend!
so where to go to get it all in one fell swoop?
also – business idea?

Definitely the Angel Dear blankies – they have them in every animal you could possibly want. My 3 year old has the giraffe and my 9 month old has the dalmation (and we have extra back ups of both!). They won’t go to sleep without them!

Besides honest advice from my mama friends (which is priceless) I’d say the best gift we received were the muslin blankets. We used them at the hospital the day she was born and every day since – for swaddling, shading baby from the sun, wiping up spit up messes, and using them to sit on in the park. They are so light so they are easy to take everywhere, and they wash so well. I’ve given them as gifts twice now!

Love the blog! The best baby gift I was ever given were baby photos taken 10 days after my boy was born by a photographer friend. In the haze of the early days after having baby, it was amazing that she had the wherewithall and talent to capture those precious times so beautifully. She came over to our place to make it easier and I’ll treasure those photos forever.

My favorite ‘must have’ was the baby k’tan, some prefer the moby. It was perfect for the first few months when a structured carrier was too big. It allows a mom to have a bite to eat and dare I say brush her teeth.

The best new mom gift I got was a collection of mom care items like Tucks pads, epson salts, nipple ointment, breast pads etc. Things that I didnt even know what to do with until the day the baby was born! Then I ripped into that gift bag and used ALL THE THINGS.

Instead of giving clothes or stuffies which I think most babies have more than enough of, my friends and I pooled our resources and bought a running stroller for the mommy-to-be. @pema.lhalungpa

Sorry my little guy knocked my phone before I could finish. The mobile is amazing!

First time expectant mom here… still waiting for baby to come in July. I love these suggestions! I guess I won’t know what my must-haves are until later this summer, but will be adding the above list to my registry :)

I think my favorite mommy must have item was my ergo! Can’t live without it!
